HUD Job Search
Job search, upfront placement, training and permanent housing are offered to clients who are homeless. The program aids clients with preparing, organizing, and implementing job search. It includes self assessment to define employability, where to look, how to prepare an effective resume and job interview skills. Case manager directs clients individually. Training, work clothes and tools are also provided when necessary. Clients have to have a referring agency confirm that he/she is homeless. Clients are assisted in finding permanent housing and the program provides security deposit and first month’s rent. After clients are employed, they stay in contact for 90 days to insure retention.

Pre-Release Job Search
Pre-Release Job Search is located at St. Vincent de Paul kitchen. This program works with Luzerne County Correctional Facility with the work release inmates. It provides clients with job search skills such as; self-assessment, resume writing, interview skills, and how to look for a job. It is a 3 week program working in group and one on one with a case manager. Inmates are able to find permanent jobs so that when they are released they have a place in the work force.
