An ecumenical organization, Project: HEAD consists of a network of senior citizen groups within the community who meet in church halls or community buildings. These clubs are sponsored by Catholic Social Services but are autonomous and self-sufficient. Each club strives to follow the six point philosophy of Project: HEAD which includes: socialization; health and welfare; cultural; educational; worthwhile use of leisure time through volunteerism. Each club networks with each other through advisory board meetings, four times a year. They also enjoy social networking activities.
An Executive Board comprised of approximately 15 members meets every month. This board reports on the six point progress in the club and in the community. The members also assist the coordinator in decisions regarding the networking activities and disbursement of funds from the Project: HEAD special account. Rules and procedures are also discussed in this group’s meetings.
